Keyword Optimisation of Content

Keywords. Optimising. This post will tell you all you need to know in order to have your articles at their full potential when it comes to keyword SEO?. Please note that this article covers only keyword optimisation in an individual article or other piece of content, and not for a site as a whole.

Keyword Explanation: Even if you only have a bit of experience with the internet, you will probably know what a keyword is, but, to avoid any misunderstanding, here is a brief explanation.

A keyword is a word that is particularly relevant to a piece of content, e.g. an article, a webpage, a blog post etc. For example, the keywords that I would be aiming to promote for this article are “keyword”, and “optimising”. At a push, you could also include “keywords” and “optimisation“. You will find out later on why these slight changes are significant.

Keywords are used by web developers to push their sites to the top of search engines. This works because search engines like Google use keywords to judge the relevance of an article or site, and then use this information when indexing sites. So an article that has been optimised for the keywords “growing”, “herbs”, and “home”, will have the edge over a site with no optimisation when someone searches in Google something like “tips on growing herbs at home”.

Keyword Optimising Your Content: When it comes to keyword optimisation for an article, some people have the philosophy of just cramming in keywords as often as possible. This is not a brilliant idea, as anybody reading an article will be able to tell when this technique is being used. It doesn’t appear professional and it is not fun to read. Also, modern search engines can tell when this is happening, and tend to avoid pushing this sort of the site up the results.

Rather, you should write for the viewer, and if you stay on topic, the keywords should throw themselves in automatically. Then you can dust over the article, adding more where possible and appropriate.

There are a couple of places where you should try to concentrate your efforts, namely the title of the content, and the beginning and end of your content. Optimising the title should be quite self-explanatory, as it is what search engines actually display as results, and are so very important in catching the attention of readers, and letting search engine crawlers know what your content is about.

However, the importance of the beginning and end of your content may not be as obvious. You probably noticed that the first two words of this article were "keywords" and "optimising", and you may also have noticed the short summary at the end of every axialworldwide.com post. This is because these are the sections most indexed by search engines, and if a reader sees right at the start of the article that they have found something relevant, they will be more likely to keep reading.

A Note on Spelling in Keywords: One thing to remember is that keywords have to be accurate to the letter. A search engine will see "keyword" and "keywords" as two completely different words, so when writing your content you should try to include both plural and singular as much as possible. Also, you should be careful of English/American spellings, for example, you may not want to only include "color" rather than "colour" if you are aiming for an audience on both sides of the Atlantic.

However, if you constantly switch your spelling it make look like you are making mistakes, so you may want to decide at the beginning which you will use. This is mainly only important if the keyword is one that will be searched for directly. So if someone searches for "best baby room color", and you have optimised the keyword "colour", it will not be as effective.

Keyword Optimisation Summary: Basically, keyword optimisation can be summed up like this; (1) Choose between 2 and 5 keywords for each piece of content. (2) Write for the readers, not the search engine. (3) Don’t over-saturate your article. (4) Watch out for spelling.
And that’s it! Now you should be ready to keyword optimise your own content!

Just as a point of interest, here’s how many times I used my two main keywords in this article: "Keyword" – 17 times and "keywords" – 15 times.

5 Tips to an Effective About Page

When visitors to your website want to get a little background behind the writer, they may decide to check out the about page of the site. However, many sites have a poorly organized about page, if they even have one at all. With these tips, you’ll be on your way to a well organized and informative about page.

1. Give a Background Story

One-way to add personality to an About Me page is to give a background story. This can be a personal biography or the story of how your website/business came to be at the position it is today.
You don’t have to give a history line-up; this means that anyone from start-ups to veteran websites can have a nice, simple, to-the-point biography.

2. Keep It Related to the Site

If your website deals with technology and your biography talks about how you started your makeup business, I don’t think most of your visitors would appreciate the page. This means, it’s best to keep the biography related to the website while still covering what is important. While you may not leave out that part of your life entirely, you shouldn’t focus solely on it either.

3. Make it a Search Engine Magnet

Find out what users are searching online and take advantage of it in your bio. You can do this by using Google AdWords tool. By entering terms in the engine, you’ll find some of the most searched keywords. When you add this into your biography, it’ll grab the attention of search engines. This means that users who are specifically interested in your biography or the subjects it is related to, will be more likely to land up on your page. Thus you not only get views, you get interested views.

4. Informative, but to the Point

For most people, they probably won’t have two paragraphs about how they got their first camera. This, for example, would be something mentioned in about a couple of sentences. In other words, try to be informative by giving a back-story to a certain topic mentioned in your biography. On the other hand, don’t try to focus too much on it, just get to the main point of things.

5. Keep It Up-to-Date

A mistake many people do is not updating their page. There are many times when very important events that happened after the bio was made that don’t get mentioned. In addition, you may want to have a call of action for the visitors to the page. After they read it, you may want them to go and check out either other posts or your social networking sites. However, if you still have on there, call to visit your profile page on some outdated social networking site, then obviously you need a revamp of your about me page!

Internet could get 100 times faster

British scientists have devised a way of using graphene, the thinnest material in the world, to capture and convert more light than previously, paving the way for advances in high-speed Internet and other communications.

In a study appearing in Nature Communication, the team – which included Nobel Prize-winning scientists Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov – found that by combining graphene with metallic nanostructures, there was a 20-fold enhancement in the amount of light the graphene could harvest and convert into electrical power.

Graphene is a form of carbon just one atom thick and yet 100 times stronger than steel.
“Many electronics companies consider graphene for their next-gen devices. This work certainly boosts graphene’s chances,” said Novoselov, a scientist who with Geim won the 2010 Nobel Prize for physics for graphene.

Previous research has shown that electrical power can be generated by putting two closely-spaced metallic wires on top of graphene and shining light on the whole structure, effectively making a simple solar cell.
Due to the high mobility and velocity of the electrons in graphene, such graphene cell devices can be incredibly fast – tens or potentially hundreds of times faster than the rates in the fastest Internet cables in use today.

The main stumbling block to practical applications has so far been the cell devices’ low efficiency, the researchers said. The problem is that graphene absorbs little light – only around 3 per cent – with the rest going through without contributing to the electrical power.

In a collaboration between the Universities of Manchester and Cambridge, Novoselov’s team found they could solve this problem by combining graphene with tiny metallic structures known as plasmonic nanostructures, which are specially arranged on the graphene.

By using the plasmonic enhancement, the light-harvesting performance of graphene was boosted by 20 times without sacrificing any of its speed, they wrote in their study. Future efficiency could be improved even more, they said.

Andrea Ferrari of Cambridge University, who also worked on the team, said the findings show graphene’s great potential in photonics and in developing electronic devices that channel and control light. He said the combination of its special optical and electronic properties could now be fully exploited.

Happy Independence Day - 2011

The Independence Day of India is celebrated on the fifteenth of August to commemorate its independence from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation in 1947. The day is a national holiday in India. All over the country, flag-hoisting ceremonies are conducted by the local administration in attendance. The main event takes place in Delhi, the capital city of India, where the Prime Minister hoists the national flag at the Red Fort and delivers a nationally televised speech from its ramparts. In his speech, he highlights the achievements of his government during the past year, raises important issues and gives a call for further development. The Prime Minister also pays his tribute to leaders of the freedom struggle.

Whether it is a speech or a pitch, we can develop an animated Flash movie that summarises your key points in a captivating presentation format that resonates with your target audience. Create a point of difference and leave a lasting impression with an innovative presentation that inspires your audience.

All too often presenters get caught in the trap of relying on a tired old PowerPoint file as the basis of their presentation. Back in 1997, one may be forgiven for using clip art and primitive animation effects to create a gimmicky presentation. In today’s competitive business environment, a memorable presentation involves a more unique approach. Most presenters are challenged by a demanding audience with a limited attention span. You only get one opportunity to engage the audience's attention, so you need to make it count.

Our talented design team can work in close partnership with you to create a tailor made slide show that compliments your presentation. We make it our business to understand the subject matter in granular detail. This allows us to inject our creative flare into an animated Flash movie that conveys the underlying messages in the most engaging format. Using a combination of slick animation, video integration, stylish design, interactive charts and custom made graphic, we prepare comprehensive slideshow that builds an instant rapport with your audience.

All of our interactive Flash presentations can be transferred to a CD or USB drive for instant plug and play capability.

eCommerce Website

Our eCommerce websites make buying online simple and easy for your Customers. By combining an intuitive design interface with a feature packed E-Commerce engine, we convert online visitors into satisfied Customers. With 2 years of experience in the field and over 3 eCommerce websites under our belt, we have the expertise and technology to ensure your online store expands your target market to a wider online audience.
A successful E-Commerce website requires a lot of thought and planning. Before getting too caught up in the process of building an eCommerce website, we recommend you conduct some important preliminary research to determine the viability of an online selling model for your business:
  • Is there a market for your business online? Although there is a successful E-Commerce store for just about every type of business these days, there are certain types of products or services that are particularly conducive to online selling.
  • Are you price competitive? Although price isn't everything, many online buyers are adopting the attitude of "shop there buy here". They will review the different products or services through the traditional methods, but select their ultimate vendor online in an effort to find the most price competitive deal.
  • Do you have the resources and internal processes necessary to facilitate a successful online venture? Happy Customers equal repeat Customers and referrals. When it comes to Customer service and logistics, you need to ensure the Customer has a memorable experience. This means reliable distribution and professional Customer support.
  • Are you seriously committed to establishing a successful online store? Over 95% of online stores fail. Of the remaining 5%, very few make the transition from a fledgling shop to a thriving operation. Unfortunately many business operators are under the illusion that an eCommerce website offers a cheap and easy avenue for flogging off products while eliminating overheads - nothing could be further from the truth. If your E-Commerce strategy is not diligently planned and executed, it is unlikely to succeed.
With all that said, an E-Commerce website may be a lucrative and scalable opportunity for your business. Over the past several years we have been involved in producing E-Commerce website that have resulted in exponential growth for some of our Customers. In certain instances, the website has developed into our client's most valuable asset. Because we have such conviction in our processes and methodologies, we are currently involved in a number of separate joint ventures with some our most promising Customers.

If you like to learn more about how we can partner with you to build a winning E-Commerce solution for your business, please give us a call on +91 9702 988 924.

HTTPS and VPN Explained in Simple English

You know that HTTPS (Secure HTTP) and VPN (Virtual Private Network) are a more secure way to browse the web but what exactly happens behind the scenes when you use either of these options? Why do you need to use a VPN when you have already turned on HTTPS?

The Privacy Team at Google has recently added a couple of short and useful videos to YouTube that try to explain technical jargon like HTTPS, VPN, WPA (for secure Wi-Fi) in simple English and why these are important. Take a look.

The basic idea is that you encrypt traffic between your computer and the web server so that eavesdroppers cannot see any of that information. HTTPS will only encrypt traffic between your browser and a particular website while VPN will encrypt all traffic between your computer and the Internet.
